The standard advice on PR pitching goes something like this: 1) Make sure your story is "real news." 2) Don't mass distribute news releases. Is that contradictory advice? Shouldn't "real news" be distributed to all RELEVANT news sources at the same time? If it's an industry-focused news story like a product introduction, shouldn't all industry journals get the same story at the same time? If it's a local news story, shouldn't it be distributed to all local media at the same time? What do you think?
