Wikipedia Editing Guidelines - The Role of PR

Many articles extol the virtues of podcasting for marketing and PR. But there are many sound reasons (pun intended) why businesses and non-profit organizations should think twice about producing podcasts for marketing and PR. Unpaid Internships: Worthwhile Educational Experience or Exploitation?

Despite many high-profile court settlements penalizing companies that did not pay interns, many organizations may not be getting the message that interns must be paid at least a minimum wage in almost all cases. To use unpaid interns, employers much meet a rigorous six-part set of criteria issued by the Department of Labor. Few intern programs meet all the criteria. Organizations that fail to meet Department of Labor employment standards for unpaid internships leave themselves open to lawsuits and resulting public relations damage.
Important Update: The New York Times reported on July 3 that a federal appeals court set aside a lower court decision against Fox Searchlight Pictures concerning unpaid interns. The appeals court decision gives employers more leeway to use unpaid interns legally.
